Several years ago, after some marathon table top sessions, we started thinking about what kind of game we would make if we could. There were many ideas which led to many more ideas and lots of sketches, notes, and laughs. Out of that came Secret Unknown Stuff. Sure, it is ambitious for a first project but we felt passionate that this was the game we wanted to create. It has been in development for over a year now and soon its time will come to be released from its cryo-tube to meet the outside world!
Our goal is to launch the Kickstarter campaign with a project that is 100% complete and ready to go into production once the goal is met (just push the shiny red "start the presses" button). As of March we are about 93.45% complete (give or take a little). We have been working with Panda Game Manufacturing to produce our first run and are fine tuning our shipping and fulfillment strategy to be as world friendly as possible. Playtesting is ongoing in order to have finished rules and great gameplay by launch. There is always the unknown but we want this project to be as fun and painless for our backers as is humanly possible (also alienly or bovinely possible).
Along the way there have been so many people in this amazing community (whether they know it or not) who have been instrumental in us getting to where we are now. Zachary Strebeck has been a wealth of legal information and start up buisness knowledge. Jamey Stegmaier is an inspiration and his blog is a treasure trove of information and insight (he has excel sheets to share! and I break into my happy dance). Forums such as Board Game Geek, and Board Game Designers Forum are amazing resources with rich and active communities. Our journey is just starting and the first destination is looking pretty good right now.
Updates:We are finalizing our shipping partners for this campaign. There will always be some regions, unfortunately, that are difficult to ship to but we are still trying to find options to be as welcoming to all.
The super talented, and all around nice guy, Raul Tavares will be sculpting our minis and we couldn't be happier about that! If you don't know his work, check him out! We will be posting images as they are finished.
